Background
Mark Randall Meadows served as a Republican congressman from North Carolina from 2013 to 2020 before becoming Donald Trump’s fourth and final White House Chief of Staff from March 2020 through January 2021. He was a central facilitator of efforts to overturn the 2020 election, participating in the Georgia phone call and coordinating with John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani, and others in the fake electors scheme. He was indicted in the Georgia RICO case in August 2023 and named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal January 6 indictment. The January 6 Select Committee referred him to the DOJ for criminal charges including obstruction of justice. Trump pardoned Meadows in November 2025.
