Trump Pressures Georgia Secretary of State
🟤 Election Tampering ·
Jan 2, 2021
Summary
In a recorded January 2, 2021 phone call, Donald Trump pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes,” the exact margin by which Trump had lost the state, and suggested that Raffensperger faced criminal exposure if he refused to act on Trump’s claims of election fraud. Raffensperger pushed back point by point on Trump’s specific factual allegations, all of which had already been investigated by his office and found to be baseless. The call became a central act in the Georgia RICO Indictment of Trump in August 2023. Trump also separately pressured Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to convene the state legislature to appoint pro-Trump electors.
