Background
Tina Peters served as Mesa County Clerk and Recorder in Colorado from 2019 to 2023. In August 2021, she arranged for an unauthorized individual to copy the county’s Dominion Voting Systems election management system hard drives and software, providing the data to Trump allies who distributed it online. She was charged with multiple criminal counts and in August 2024 was convicted by a jury of seven counts including malfeasance of duty, attempting to influence a public servant, and identity theft.
