Ukraine Quid Pro Quo
🔴 Abuse of Power ·
Jul–Sep 2019
Summary
Trump withheld $400 million in congressionally mandated military aid to Ukraine, conditioning it on Ukrainian President Zelenskyy publicly announcing investigations into Joe Biden and a debunked conspiracy theory about the 2016 election. Ambassador Sondland testified he worked with Giuliani at Trump’s ‘express direction’ to arrange the quid pro quo. White House Chief of Staff Mulvaney publicly admitted to it: ‘we do that all the time with foreign policy… get over it.’ Trump was impeached December 18, 2019 on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The Senate acquitted him along party lines.
