Signalgate Strike Plans Leaked
🟣 Cover-ups & Obstruction ·
Mar 11–26, 2025
Summary
NSA Mike Waltz accidentally added The Atlantic editor Jeffrey Goldberg to a Signal group chat with Defense Secretary Hegseth, VP Vance, Secretary Rubio, CIA Director Ratcliffe and DNI Gabbard. Hegseth sent detailed Yemen strike operational information, including F-18 attack sequences, Tomahawk timing and strike windows, two hours before bombs dropped. Signal is not an approved communications platform for government officials: it is not certified for classified information and its auto-delete feature violates federal records retention requirements under the Presidential Records Act and the Freedom of Information Act, which mandate that government communications be preserved for public accountability. The Pentagon Inspector General found Hegseth’s use of Signal ‘put U.S. personnel at risk.’ Rep. Nadler called for DNI Gabbard and CIA Director Ratcliffe to be prosecuted for perjury based on their subsequent Senate Intelligence Committee testimony about the incident.
