Russian Lawyer; met with Trump campaign officials at Trump Tower in June 2016
Background
Natalia Vladimirovna Veselnitskaya is a Russian lawyer, graduate of the Moscow State Legal Academy. She has represented Russian businessman Denis Katsyv, the son of a senior official at the state-owned Russian Railways, in a U.S. money-laundering case, and in 2019 was indicted in the United States on an obstruction of justice charge connected to that matter. She met Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort at Trump Tower on June 9, 2016. The meeting was arranged after an intermediary told Trump Jr. she was offering damaging information on Hillary Clinton as part of the Russian government’s support for the campaign. The Senate Intelligence Committee examined the meeting in its review of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
