Background
RT, formerly known as Russia Today, is a Russian state-controlled international television network and media operation. In 2024, the DOJindicted two RT employees for covertly funneling nearly $10 million through shell companies to a U.S. media company, identified as Tenet Media, to produce pro-Russian content for American audiences. RT had been restricted or banned in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
